Dear
Faster Fitness,
All
can say is Thank You! I joined your 30-minute workout program in August
and have been amazed at the positive difference it has made in my life. I have
more energy, feel better about my body and myself, and know that my new
exercise routine helps me better manage the stresses of daily life. I want to
take this opportunity to give special thanks to your kind staff, especially my
personal trainer Richard as well as Jeffrey, for all of the generous support
and motivation they offer.
I
first read about Faster Fitness and the 30-minute workout in an article in
Business Journal. It intrigued me enough to go to your website for more
information. I became so excited reading about a cross training workout program
that incorporated aerobics and weight training. It made me remember a time when
I was in my 205 and used to lift weights and take aerobic classes twice a week
at a local recreation center. I really liked how my body looked then.
During
my 30s, it didn't require much effort to maintain my usual size 6/8 and keep my
weight at 118 pounds. My roommate would get up every morning and work out
religiously in her extensive home gym. I, on the other hand, preferred to sleep
as long as possible.
That
was more than a decade-and many changes-ago! My life and body have changed
drastically
since then, and I've had to deal with changes in my body
that typically occur when women are in their 40s.
Even
though I noticed my weight creeping up and the loss of muscle tone, I ignored
the problem. I fell into the trap of thinking I didn't have time to work out. I
wasn't interested in the "gym scene" so I didn't do anything to
combat the problem. I told myself that I was getting older and my body was
supposed to change. The irony was that in my mind I was stilt that same size
6/8 and 118 pounds. It was only when I looked in the mirror with a critical eye
that I saw the truth. The fact that I had begun avoiding the scale and was
buying larger sizes made me think that manufacturers had begun cutting their
clothing lines smaller-much smaller. I was in major denial.
I
am now in my late 40s and time and inactivity have taken their toll on me. I am
no longer a size 6/8 and 118 pounds. I don't like what I see! However, I'm not
into going to gyms. I belonged to one back home and transferred my membership
to Charleston-a woman's gym. I hated it. I hated the equipment; I hated the
lack of feedback I received, and I hated the lack of instruction. I also hated
waiting for the aerobic equipment and spending two hours at the gym only to
leave feeling frustrated.
After
visiting your website, I filled out the form. A short time later, I received a
call from Jeffrey and we scheduled my evaluation. The evaluation was my wakeup
call. My fitness level and heart rate were poor. Everything on me was big. I
was just plain FAT and out of shape.
The
first week, I met my trainer, Richard, and tried the workout. After that week,
I made the commitment and signed up. I was trained hard. But I always felt
great when I left. All it takes is 30 minutes! I found out again how working
out helps with the stresses of life and work, helps you sleep like a baby and
require less sleep, and how satisfying a good workout routine can be.
To
me, the best part of the program is the variety of the workout sessions. Faster
Fitness mixes up the workouts for you to prevent boredom. Each workout is fresh
and challenging, and the staff always encourages you to succeed and surpass
yourself. I especially love the one-on-one attention and instruction. No more
do I have to wait my turn for equipment or wonder if I'm using correct form.
Under my personal trainer's watchful eye, I know I am performing the moves
correctly and using the equipment optimally. I now look forward to my workouts
and the "gym scene." It's something I do just for me.
When
we scheduled my first evaluation, I was as excited about it as a child awaiting
the first day of school. I was surprised to learn I had lost only one pound,
especially since I knew my clothing were fitting better and looser! I didn't
worry about it, however, because I know that muscle weighs more than fat and
that a toned body is healthier than a flabby, less weighty one. I had built healthy
muscle and lost inches!
I
lost a 1/2 inch in my waist, an inch in my abdomen, and y. inch in my hips. In
addition, my heart rate went from a rating of poor to above average, and my
flexibility increased to excellent.
After
the initial baseline assessment, we also discussed nutrition. I found out that
I wasn't eating enough of the basic elements that we all need to properly fuel
our bodies for optimal performance. I needed to Incorporate more protein and
vegetables into my diet. I learned that half of my dinner plate should consist
of vegetables. Goals were set. I incorporated protein into my breakfast and
afternoon snack as well as increased my daily servings of vegetables. I was
also to Incorporate walking into my routine twice a week. I learned that just
cutting down on your food intake doesn't mean you will lose weight. I learned
that my metabolism can go down when I don't eat a balanced diet. The
nutritional segment of the program was very informative and made a lot of
sense. I admit that I still need to work harder at attaining these goals. I
also admit that I really love this program and the rapid results!
I
have talked with friends and family about this program. Unfortunately, they
live in other states and can
only
look forward to the arrival of a program Iike1his one for now. In the meantime,
I'll be working out and getting healthy for all of us-and sharing all I'm
learning!
What
a great idea. Thank you Richard. Jeffrey. and Faster Fitness! You've made my
life so much more and better.
Sincerely,
Susan
