To
whom it may concern
Inside
my head I'm still an 18 year old, wiser to be sure, but still able to "do
it all".
Slowly over the past ten years, and rapidly over the past five,
I was noticing an undesired change in my physical appearance. My image in the
mirror was not keeping up with my vision of myself. I tried not to dwell on it,
I would get busy and preoccupied with the daily goings on, but this year as I
approached my 65th birthday, the image was too disheartening to ignore any
longer. I had to lose weight! I started back on the LA Weight Loss program,
then to Dr. Jones and back to LA Weight Loss. They had worked before. But
something was different this time. THEY WERE NOT WORKING!
One afternoon while riding somewhere with my husband in his
truck, I reached into the door pocket and pulled out a copy of The Charleston
Regional Business Journal (better than Playboy). It was folded open and I read
the words "No time, no excuse - results in 30 minutes", I read the article.
After reading the article I decided I had to try this concept, because several
years ago I had tried to start a wt. training program and stopped after about three
months because of not seeing any results. I told my husband about it and when
we got back home I called to make an appointment for my assessment. My husband,
Steve, decided he would check it out also. We both started shortly after.
The early morning workouts fit easily into my weekly
schedule, and when I enter the fitness studio I'm always greeted with a smile.
Chris Brown, "my personal trainer"
quietly
increases my workout load to keep me ahead of myself. He decides what I need to
do, when and how to meet the goals that we have outlined for me. If I want a
specific area targeted, Chris will give me something to do to work on it. I saw
no results on my own because I didn't add to or change my workout, I didn't
know what or how. This is the know-how and discipline I have proven not to have
for myself in the past, so his guidance and record keeping is essential for my
success. Then there is always that word of encouragement to push harder, and
praise when I've accomplished what seemed to be the impossible. You could call
him the ultimate optimist.
My nutrition was a big problem, constant snacking,
"diet bars" and a lot of oblivious eating. I have Travis Lance
looking out for me, as he keeps tabs on behaviors. I'm enjoying a vast array of
fruits and vegetables that were taboo in my life for so long while on the never
ending diets. Now I'm losing weight, losing inches and according to my last
assessment I'm losing that dam elusive body fat my health checkups keep telling
me I have too much of. Travis has a smile that just won't quit, and his
"thumbs -up" greetings are always welcome. Most important, he tries
hard to keep that fruit bowl full for me.
It has been three months now. The image in the mirror
continues to change, but now the direction it is heading is the right
direction. There is more flexibility in the old bod'. I'm feeling good about
what I see; muscles that have been on sabbatical for decades, ribs that have
been well hidden. I can see I really do have a bone structure. The clock is
turning back and my mental and physical
stamina have returned. The gap between my mental and physical age is getting
shorter and that is great, maybe not 18, but closer.
I can recommend Faster Fitness to every adult, especially
older ones. My advice to all of you is to run, not walk to the nearest Faster
Fitness studio, especially now that articles are being published as to how
important it is to be fit. It is good to know I'm heading in the right
direction, taking my husband with me, and enjoying life as much if not more
than ever and I don't have to think about it. If it works for me it can work
for anyone. I can truthfully say that Faster Fitness is the best gift Steve and
I have ever given each other.
Thanks Travis and Chris.
